Governor Ved Marwah has stated that discipline is the most important component of education and the nation needs worthy and disciplined youths who would shape the future destiny of the nation.
The Governor was speaking as the chief guest at the 30th Annual Day celebration of Sainik School Imphal at Pangei today.
He said that it not the government which could provide quality education but the parents, students and teachers.
The government just acts as the backbone of the system.
Marwah regretted that in Manipur, �everybody is agitating� for job, salary or something else without realizing the justification of their demand.
Calling them �parasitic class� he said they contributes nothing but demands more.
He lauded the Sainik School for being able to send a good number of students to National Defence Academy during the last one year and the excellent CBSE results.
The Governor gave away the prizes to the toppers of class VI to X.cash awards with trophy instituted in memory of ex-student late Capt Bimol Kumar and late Maj SK Singh were also distributed to the brilliant performers of class IX and X.Col Dr SS Parmar, principal of the school read out the annual school report and its achievements.
An exhibition was organized during the celebration.
A dance number under the title Glimpses of North East enthralled the audience.
State�s First Lady Kamal K Marwah also attended the function.
Sainik School Imphal was established on October 7, 1971 near Tulihal airport.
